Working in Resonet

Well, it has been a month since I started my working life. Before this I was struggling whether should I or shouldn’t I blog about my working life as there is a possibility my boss could have read this! lolz. Then now here I am, thinking that it would be ok as long as I didn’t offend my boss or the company and company’s confidential information.

I’m now currently working at Resonet, a small webpage development company located at Jalan Lumba Kuda beside St Xaviers School. I work as a PHP Programmer.
Life here was not bad, work from 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. At least I get to sleep late and rest on Saturday and Sunday 😀

For the first month, there was not much jobs. The first three weeks I was told to do some practices only before started to work on a real project. I’ve done some practices on image uploading, merging and etc. Started to work on object oriented in PHP, never do that before in PHP. Last time studied about object oriented in college was developed in Java. And then I was told to make a blog for user to post, login and etc as practices. Oh ya, this company practice drawing data flow diagrams =.=” almost forgotten how to draw a DFD, so I was like just simply and roughly draw 😛

After all these practices currently I am working on a real project. It was not a huge one, but takes time too, I’ll just skip the details of this project. Let’s talk about the good and the bad working here >.< (should be ok right? :P) The Good

Let’s start with the good first 😛

1. Learn new stuff
As I was saying, I never implement object oriented in PHP before, so now I have to chance to learn that and it was not difficult. It’s good to learn how to use object oriented because it is really useful as we can reuse the functions again and again without have to repeat writing the same function.

2. Friendly Colleagues
Colleague of mine here is very friendly too. We get along well and always jokes during working hour without affecting our working progress. We went to lunch everyday together at the hawker stalls opposite Shang Wu Primary School which have nothing much to eat!! Or the other kopitiam which we called it as “nasi lemak” which is much more better than the hawker stall opposite Shang Wu because they have economic rice there. But they closed early, 🙁 so if we were too late we have to go to the nothing-to-eat Shang Wu hawker stall. **Sigh**

– Wesley aka the fair guy – PHP Programmer
Senior of mine in Resonet and TARC. He was in ACN, a very helpful guy who guided me when I first worked here. But have some issue in trusting, nobody trust whatever things he said 😛 same as Mr. Ewejin aka Con Man in Gizwiz Studio!! haha

– Li Ching aka the senior – PHP Programmer
Senior of mine in Resonet and TARC too. She was in BIS, a very helpful girl too who guided me sometimes. She is very modest and always refuse to admit that she is senior to everybody here as she worked here longest.

– Li Sia aka the happy fruit – Template Programmer
As long as she is in the office, her laughter barely stop. She is popular in the office because of her loud laughter which influence everybody. Sometimes when it’s boring it’s good to hear her laugh! haha!! And she likes to bully me!! T.T

– Ice aka ice-ice-baby – Template Designer
The only one who married in the office and always call her husband as her boyfriend. Likes to edit her photos and she taught me some techniques too! 😛

– Stella aka Penny Tai’s fan – Admin
She likes Penny 戴佩妮 very much. She’s in the fans club and took photo with Penny before. Roommate of Patricia!! 😛

– Ling Wei aka small rat – Clerk
She is the key keeper, a quiet and shy girl who barely join in our conversation during lunch but she’s a friendly person too ^^

The Bad

1. Slow internet connection and Lagging Computer
The computer I use is Vista Home with 1GB RAM, so you guys can imagine how lag it is la.. T.T

2. Environment
The place I work is not a office building but a housing apartment instead. Heard will move soon but don’t know when and where. Pray hard it’s not Bayan Lepas area or I will die!!

That is I think all that I can say. Hope my boss don’t read this, and even if he do, please don cut my salary T.T
