7th June 09, it was Sunday, and a day before this was public holiday because it’s our Yang Di-Pertuan Agong’s birthday. So today my relatives from Sg. Petani came to Penang as usual and we decided to go to this restaurant located at the mid-level of Long Bui Hill.
This place was introduced by a close friend of my father. He brought us there last Friday but that was already 9pm. So we decided to come here again to see the sunset. We barely couldn’t make it as we went to Prangin Mall for a quick shopping before that. Luckily we manage to depart on 6.30pm and reach there on time to see the beautiful, incredible egg-alike sunset. ^^
In order to get to this restaurant, you have to drive on a short but very slanting road. So you must use gear no. 1 to drive up there. My uncle use gear no. 2 to drive up there and end up stuck and slide back down.. In the end they walk up from the slanting road because his wife and daughters was freak out and don’t dare to give it another try. lolz. He drive CRV, but we saw kancil drove up too.. LOL
Actually that was what happened to us when we went there the first time.. But my dad give it another try with gear no. 1
When we arrived, first thing we do was photo session.. lolz..
It was really incredible, I’ve never seen sunrise or sunset before. Because it’s not everyday we can go to a great spot to see sunrise or sunset. I prefer sunset actually, because I don’t need to wake up early in the morning to watch it. I can’t wake up so early in the morning to see sunrise 😛
After the sky goes dark, it’s time for Penang night view!!! This is Balik Pulau’s night view..
Don’t expect too much from that as Penang is not a big city so there was not much lights too see.. **sigh**
Now let’s get back to the restaurant, Siang Seng Seafood Restaurant. First I have to apologize because I didn’t take any of the food photos because the food wasn’t fully decorated. It was just like normal dishes we ate at normal restaurant.
However, it tasted Great!! I love the Nestum Hie Koh (Shrimp paste, not sure correct or not, found this term from Google :-P), and steam “Ang Sai” fish which tasted sour and spicy.
Some photos of the restaurant’s interior..
And there was free sauna there!! Free traditional herbal sauna.. There was a donation box for those people to donate after using the sauna, but it wasn’t a must. If your face is thick enough to use it without paying anything then go ahead. They have people managing and cleaning up the place, at least you pay something for the cleaning is reasonable isn’t it?
If you don’t want to sauna, or eat dinner there, you can go there to drink beers and chit chat with your friends too.. They sell beers..
Besides, there were durians too. Haha.. Because it was located on the hill, and there were many durian fields there.
Overall this restaurant was really satisfying. All my relatives and my family members were happy and have a great time there. And it was cheap too!! There were 12 of us, and we ordered 7 dishes, only cost us about RM150.. Strongly recommended.. Worth eating even if it took us about 1 hour plus from Georgetown to there 😉
